Wedding days are just too good. You, your person, all of your other favorite humans. So much joy! My approach to a wedding day is more photojournalistic — giving direction when needed, but mostly stepping back and capturing the day as it happens! I want you to be able to look through your gallery when you receive it and remember the moments, the feelings, the tiny details - all of the things that made the day yours!
(& of course we’ll get all of the traditional portraits as well)
My wedding day is one of my very favorite days, rivaled only by the days I met my two babies, and the pictures I have are treasures.

A couple or engagement session is basically an excuse for you to cuddle and laugh and adventure for an hour or so! I’ll help pose you, but I will also encourage you to move around, hug a little tighter, whisper sweet nothings, and just enjoy each other. The in between moments are some of the best. We’ll get to know one another a little better, talk about why you love and are proud of each other, and hopefully come away wishing we could do this more often!

Families may be my favorite type of session because each one is so unique and the interactions are so special to watch! As with my other sessions, I will offer some guidance with posing, but I will also encourage you to be yourselves! My approach to family sessions is more candid — I want a tiny part of your story to unfold before my camera. If you have small kids, we’re gonna play! I want the giggles and the dancing and all of it. Every parent is worried about how their children will do during pictures, and I promise to help make them feel comfortable! I think you’ll be surprised at how beautiful the unposed, imperfect moments can be.

FAQs
I’m so awkward in front of the camera. Will you tell me what to do?
Wanna know a secret? Almost EVERYONE feels awkward in front of a camera, including me! My goal when I head into a session is to help you feel comfortable and at ease, direct when needed, and capture glimpses of what makes up the whole of who you are. I’ll be your hype girl the whole time! & at the end, I usually hear “that wasn’t so bad!” or “that was actually really fun!”
How do we make this thing happen?
You’re ready to book? YAY! Head over to my “contact” page to fill out the form and let me know what sort of session/package you are interested in! Once we pick a date, I’ll request a non-refundable deposit, which can be transferred to another date if needed, and then you’re officially on my calendar! Simple as that!
I don’t know where to go or what to wear. Will you have ideas?
I have some go-to locations in the Johnson City/East Tennessee area. We can chat about what kind of vibe you’re wanting and decide from there! If you have a specific spot in mind, I’m always up for trying new places! Especially if they’re special to you. As far as outfits, wear something that is comfortable and feels like you! If you have questions about colors/patterns/etc. we can absolutely talk through that, but my biggest piece of advice? Don’t overthink it. You will look back and love the pictures that felt and looked the most like YOU.
How long after our photos are taken until we get to see them? How do you send them?
I ask for a maximum of 12 weeks for weddings and a maximum of 4 weeks for all other sessions. I deliver my images through an online gallery, which can then be downloaded to your computer. You will receive full printing rights so you can share and print your photos however you want to!
Will you travel to take photos?
I will! I am always up for an adventure and understand that sometimes a place is what makes the photo, especially if you have “your” place. I will travel within 30 minutes of Johnson City, TN for no extra cost. Beyond that, I have travel rates which are calculated based on gas and added time!
